  Toddler accidentally shoots woman dead in Idaho Walmart

  a woman has been shot dead by a 2-year-old in a wal-mart store in idaho.. .

  I know the issue seems unsurmountable but a sea change is possible.  In the UK drink driving used to be seen as a sport for raffish lads who flouted the law with a wink.  Now it is seen as antisocial, it still happens of course but the norm is to view it with disgust.

   Speeding was similarly a sort of game between drivers and the police.  Now it is largely under control, public sentiment is just against blatant disregard of the law.  People just realise the damage it can do. 

  Smoking in public places was made illegal, the idea of pubs without the smoky atmosphere seemed unthinkable, now if someone lights up it would seem an outrage.

  Things can change if enough people will it, gun control, a tightening up of regulations can effect a public change of mood.  That is a very powerful thing.  It needs political courage to start the ball rolling.

  Can you really equate guns with cars?  There is only one design absolute for a gun,that is to kill.  

  There is only only reason to carry one, to defend yourself from other people with guns who want to kill you.  The 2nd amendment has become America's burden and shame. There, that's my sweeping statement of the day.

  a couple from the uk, international construction volunteers, were living in a trailer whilst building a translation facility in mozambique.

  a gang attacked them with machetes and stole everything they owned.

  the couple were flown back to the branch in south africa.

   A couple from the UK, International Construction volunteers, were living in a trailer whilst building a translation facility in Mozambique.  A gang attacked them with machetes and stole everything they owned. 

  The couple were flown back to the branch in South Africa.  The SA branch organizes WT building projects for the whole of Africa.  The second most senior overseer in the building department went immediately back to Mozambique to organise better security.  The gang came back and shot the overseer to death.

   I offer this story without embellishment or comment  though I believe it to be true.  Can anyone confirm or deny it?

  i am not usually impressed by human interest stories but this guy does more good in five minutes, does more to promote humanity in 5 minutes than a bus load of sterile literature carts and cartons of propaganda.. what say you, can one person make difference?
